Giving Opportunities

Help support the mission of Catholic Lasallian education at Christian Brothers High School.  You can make a gift on line today.

AMBASSADORS CLUB
Members are all donors who give $1,876 or more annually to the school. Ambassadors receive special recognition in the Connection Magazine, and at the annual Ambassadors Club dinner held each October.

ENDOWED GIFTS
Gifts may be added to currently establish endowed funds or a new endowed fund may be created with support at the $25,000 and up level.  Gifts to endowment help secure the financial stability of the school.  Endowed funds supply annual income to CBHS.

GIVING WITH CASH, CHECK, OR BY CREDIT CARD
The most common forms of gift giving are by cash, check, or credit card. Normal support of the Christian Brothers High School operating budget, an important need and high priority for the school, is usually given through these means. Gifts may also be restricted for a specific purpose, or to capital or endowed programs.

MATCHING GIFTS
Many businesses and corporations match personal gifts to educational institutions made by employees, retirees, and their family members. Your own company’s personnel office will be happy to provide you with information about its matching gift program.

MEMORIAL GIFTS AND GIFTS TO HONOR A PERSON
Gifts may be made to honor a person or to request that they be remembered in the Brothers’ prayers. Contact the Advancement Office at (916) 733-3600 to request information about memorial contributions or ways to make a gift in honor of an individual.

PERSONAL PROPERTY OR EQUIPMENT
Christian Brothers High School will gladly accept gifts of personal property, equipment and other items of value, if the items are relevant to the needs of the school.

PLANNED GIFTS
Gift annuities, life insurance, charitable remainder trusts, lead trusts, and bequests are examples of planned giving. By making such a gift to Christian Brothers you not only contribute to the school’s future, in many instances you may enjoy a tax deduction or avoid capital gains or estate taxes.

REAL ESTATE
Gifts of real estate can be given to the school outright, transferred to the school in a bargain sale, or can be used to fund a gift annuity or unitrust. In some cases it may be possible to arrange a sizable tax deduction by deeding property to the school now, while continuing to occupy the property during your lifetime.

SECURITIES/STOCK GIFTS
Gifts of appreciated securities may be deducted at fair market value on the date of transfer to the school. These gifts are valued at the mean of the high and low quotations on the date of transfer. Gifts such as these may produce significant tax advantages to the donor as long-term securities may have appreciated in value.

UNITED WAY
Christian Brothers is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, and we accept United Way payroll deduction gifts.
