Individual classes, clubs and teams engage students in personal outreach with direct service, for which they do not get paid, to meet a genuine social need in our community. Individuals may also engage in outreach projects with other organizations, such as, scout troops, churches or various social service agencies in the community. (See our Christian Service Links). These experiences may require one time participation or long-term volunteering. Outreach projects are encouraged (although not required) to contain a Christian Service-Learning component that shows meaningful connections between the students’ charitable acts and a given class’ studies or club/team activities.
Students are encouraged to document the hours of service they complete with Christian Brothers affiliated groups, as well as, outside individuals and outside groups. If you have any questions contact Ms. Jennifer Lystrup at 733-3653 ext 1653.

Wellspring Breakfast Club was founded in 1987 by the Campus Ministers at Bishop Manogue High School. In 1990, when Bishop Manogue was closed and it merged with Christian Brothers High School, Dr. Peterson brought the Wellspring Breakfast Club with her to CB. CB students have been cooking breakfast every Friday morning for Wellspring Women’s Center for over 20 years. Each Friday morning students come to the cafeteria at 6:00am, to cook scrambled eggs and pancakes for the women and their young children at Wellspring. They then deliver the hot food directly to Wellspring by 7:30am.
All students are welcome to join Wellspring Breakfast Club at any time. If you are interested, please see Mr. Delgado in room 108 or Mr. Heine in Br. Edward Hall.

Christian Service Corps is a club in which students work together to coordinate and implement almsgiving projects on campus. The students decide the recipients of our alms, how the projects will be promoted on campus, and how the alms will be collected and delivered. When possible we try to deliver our alms in person so the students get hands on experience of the people they are serving.
All students are welcome to join Christian Service Corps. If you are interested, please see Ms. Lystrup, the Christian Service Director, in the Christian Service Center.

Our mission in Heartbeats – the respect life club - is to be servants of Christ and to inform the CB community of the importance of life from conception to natural death and the duty we have to take care of it. We aspire to help our peers understand that life and sexuality are precious and must be honored.
Kids for Kids is a club of Christian Brothers High School students that volunteer for other children in our community. We work with the Sacramento Food Bank (in their programs that benefit children Mother-Baby, Child Services, the Computer Clubhouse, and the SACA Community Learning Center), Moral Values Program, and other local agencies that benefit disadvantaged children by spreading awareness, raising money, and creating donation drives to benefit the children of Oak Park.
