In 1975 she received her teaching credential for grades K – 12 also from CSUS and later completed a certificate for teaching mathematics.
From 1975-1980, Ms. Moulton began her first teaching assignment with the Sacramento City Unified School District. In this position, she was recognized for the league championships the gymnastic team she coached received. She also assisted with coaching the Track and Field team and she started the first men’s gymnastics program at the school. This led to after school competitions among the pupils in the class.
Ms. Moulton took a leave from teaching in 1980 to begin her family. She has 3 children. During their elementary years most of her emphasis was within the church. She has taught Catholic Christian Doctrine, been a lector, and served both as a Eucharistic and a musical minister. In addition to her church activities, she also was a long term substitute teacher for an evening class one semester at Consumnes River College and during the summer she would teach a mathematics course at Jesuit High School.
When her children began elementary school she went back to teaching part time in mathematics at St. Francis High School for 16 years. During her tenure, she was a junior class moderator and led Service Activities for the school. At her children’s school, she was PTA president and continued to teacher summer school mathematics classes at Jesuit High School and St. Francis High School.
Ms. Moulton joined Christian Brothers High School as a mathematics instructor in 2000. At CB she has helped as a junior class moderator, cheerleading coach, and freshman girls’ basketball assistant coach. Currently she spends most of her time with the Big Brothers club, being a member of both the Service Learning and Dean’s Advisory Councils and attending student events.
Ms. Moulton has always had a passion for education. She has been teaching for 30 years and has collected an additional 80 units above her BA. She is highly interested in the brain research which is currently leading the research on student learning. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, walking and biking in nature, and going out to dinner.
