    Job Corps provides income-eligible young men and women, ages 16 to 24, with an opportunity to gain the experience they need to begin a career or advance to higher education. The program provides training in more than 100 career areas and can help students earn their high school diplomas or GEDs.     Ten different black colleges/universities are looking for senior African-American males who want to go to college out of state for FREE. The HBCU Colleges are looking for future black male teachers and will send them to universities/college for 4 years FREE. This is for African-American males only.     Common Application (Private Colleges)

    The Common Application is the recommended form of over 300 selective colleges and universities for admission to their undergraduate programs. Many of these institutions use the form exclusively.     REGISTER FOR THE SELECTIVE SERVICE

    If you are a male and at least 17 years 3 months of age, you can submit your information and be automatically registered when you turn 18. You must register within 30 days of your 18th birthday or you will be in violation of the law plus be ineligible for Federal student loans, job training programs, and government jobs. Go to www.sss.gov/ to get started.

    Juniors:

    Are you interested in attending a CSU Campus? IMPORTANT: Did you know that you can fulfill your two years of Science with a UC/CSU ‘d’ and a ‘g’ approved course? In other words, as long as you have one year of LIFE SCIENCE (Biology, Human Physiology, Watershed, Biotechnology) and one year of PHYSICAL SCIENCE (Chemistry, Physics, or the ‘g’-approved Advanced Physical Science) with a C or above, you are eligible to apply to a CSU campus!

    Statistics:  UC does accept Intro to Stats as a “g” elective and considers it a fourth year of math, but it does NOT FULFILL the math “c” requirement.
