CB Swim Takes on the CAL Championship Meet

The Falcons Swim Team participated in the CAL Championship Meet this past weekend and achieved several highlight performances. Starting with the boys, Zach Byrne ’18 lead the charge, reaching the finals in both his races and coming in second in the 200 I.M. and third in the 500 Free. Andy Chen ’18 finaled in both of his races as finishing in 6th in the 100 Fly and 6th in the 100 Back. Sam Trujillo ’18 and Sam Noonan ’20 both made it to consolation finals in the 100 back. On the girls team, Kristina Murphy ’18 came in 2nd in 200 I.M. and 1st in 100 Breaststroke. Tylee Harrison ’20 finaled in both her races, coming in 2nd in 100 Free and 2nd in 50 Free. Both “A” relays for 200 Free and 200 Medley got 2nd place. Overall, Varsity Girls came in fourth and Varsity Boys came in fifth.

The CB Dive Team had their league championship meet this past weekend as well. Varsity Boys only diver, Owen Hunt ’18, had an incredible performance and earned 1st place in the CAL with an overall score of 363.90. Varsity Girls had four divers competing in the meet. Emma O’Connor ’20 had the best score out of the four girls with a 188.60 and came in 9th, Poppy Ruyak ’19 came in 10th with a score of 186.5, Andrea Gonzalez ’17 came in 11th with a score of 179.85, and Libby Sparks ’17 came in 12th with a score of 161.10. The girls competed very well especially for it being their first season competing in diving. Owen competed well on Friday and advanced to finals on Saturday where he finished 8th in sections.
