CB XC competed at Golden Gate Park in the SF Invitational on Saturday against 84 other high schools. Coach Danny Delgado (‘79) and his Frosh boys placed 8th in their race, while lead runner for the sophomore class Luke Powers (‘20) was the top finisher for CB, stealing the 77th spot out of 238 runners. CB’s varsity women placed 31 out of 46 teams, and the men placed 9th in their respective races. But these statistics do not do the CB XC team justice with their performance on Saturday. CB not only out performed but outscored almost all other teams in the San-Joaquin section, most of those being division I and II teams. Assistant Coach Larry Reel (‘91) spoke highly of his team, saying that “the Freshman Boys are something to look out for”. Freshman boys placed the highest out of all other CB XC teams. Christian Brothers had a great start to it’s XC season and the goal for a consecutive section title is only getting closer. Be sure to go out and support our boys and girls this Saturday at Folsom High School’s Willow Hills for the Josh Ruff invitational at 9:00 a.m.
