This Tuesday the Lady Falcons water polo team took on Bear River in the CAL tournament at Rio Americano. The teams were neck and neck to start off the first quarter and were fighting for that first goal. The score was tied at 0-0 until Sierra Martin ’18 changed that with a beautiful shot from the inside post. This was only a starting point for the girls as they battled for the win with the Bruins. By the 2nd quarter the girls were only accelerating in speed, momentum, and motivation. Espy Razo ’18 and Maddie Mercer ’18 added onto Martin’s goal adding on three more within three possessions of each other. To start off the third quarter, the girls were up 5-2 and were not quitting until the final buzzer of the game. As the Bruins started fighting their way up to a win, making the score a close 7-4, they were unsuccessful in beating the Falcons in score and spirit. To finish off the game the girls beat the Bear River Bruins 11-5, only letting them score once after the third quarter. After a well-fought and well-deserved win, the Lady Falcons look to take on returning league champs Rio Americano this Thursday.
