Lady Falcons Spike Eagles To Take CAL Title

By Nick Smith

After a strong victory over the Rio Americano Raiders at their court on Tuesday night, the Lady Falcons Volleyball team took on the El Camino Eagles in a home match that doubled as their senior night and the Capital Athletic League championship.

Our girls faced El Camino earlier this season in a tough match that ended up in favor of the Eagles. The Lady Falcons were excited and ready to redeem themselves after that loss and took the fight to the Eagles after their senior night festivities. The girls were more ready this time around, destroying the El Camino defense and successfully countering their offense. The Lady Falcons took the win after three dominating sets. While all the girls played well, the seniors held up the team. Some standout stars included Mary Kate Monnat ’18, who successfully set up the other girls, Synclaire Warren ’18 who showed defensive prowess, Maddie Yeager ’18, who killed the opposition, and Amelia Conaghan ’18 who bolstered the Falcon defensive game.

Now officially Capitol Athletic League champions, our Lady Falcons look to the future, hoping to secure a third straight section title. If you happen to see one of our hard-working volleyball girls, be sure to congratulate her on the team’s accomplishments.
