Our Women’s Soccer team took on the El Camino Eagles on Tuesday at Hughes Stadium. The girls came out with an aggressive start with a goal from Lexi Rakela (‘21) early in the game. The Falcons played a highly offensive game, coming extremely close to scoring on many occasions, as our ladies kept the Eagles on their heels into the half. Down 1-0, the Eagles kicked it into gear with strong offensive plays only to be shut down by Julia Atlee (’18), Kennedy Earley (‘19), and goalie Lauren Towne (’20). The game turned aggressive when Emma Thompson (’18) was fouled in the box towards the end of the second half. Maci Bakarich (’19) took the penalty kick and put the ball to the back of the net with ease, giving the Falcons a comfortable 2-0 lead. In desperate need of a comeback, the Eagles maintained the majority of the possession. The aggression only increased as Bakarich and Thompson both received yellow cards along with El Camino players. The Falcons were able to shut down the Eagles final opportunities and made a few of their own, ending the game with a score of 2-0. We are proud of our Lady Falcons and hope to see fans come out when the Falcons travel to take on Casa Roble on Thursday.
