Grizzlies Rout Falcons In Rugby Opener

By Owen Hunt

The Falcon Rugby team took on nationally ranked Granite Bay this Saturday in enemy territory. The game started off with a bumpy start as Granite Bay scored two quick tries early in the game. The Falcons were able to plant their feet and stop a Granite Bay drive and retrieve the ball. Jehlani Morton (‘19) put the Falcons on the board by scoring their first and only try. With good performances on set pieces, the Falcons were looking well trained compared to past seasons. The Falcons largest victory of the day was seen in their scrums with Colin McCarley (‘18), Emeril Cedros (‘19), and Anthony Richardson (‘20) leading the way. The final score was 60-7, giving the Falcons a nice jumping off point on where they need to improve.

“We need to work on ball security and being more organized on defense” says McCarley. The Falcons will be traveling to Cordova on Saturday for the Annual Kickoff Tournament, come out and support our boys.
