On Saturday the Christian Brothers Lady Falcons will battle the Saint Francis Troubadours in a nonconference rivalry game at home. In previous years, both teams have gone back and forth with the win. This year, CB plans on redeeming themselves after last year’s 79-65 loss. Overall, both teams have undefeated league record. CB’s national rank is 250 places above Saint Francis and our state rank is 22 places above the Troubadours. The biggest competitor on Saint Francis is senior Marlee Nicolos, who is impressively averaging 9.1 rebounds a game and 14.6 points a game. Fortunately, CB has Bria Shine ’20, who averages 11.1 rebounds a game. Brianna Juniel ’19 averages 18.8 points a game. The Lady Falcons are coming off a 58-26 win against Rio Americano on Tuesday, leading them to be more confident going into this game. CB’s talented starting five will showcase their dedication and will for the win.
After a tough preseason, the Falcons have the durability and stamina to push the Troubadours and add one more loss to their 10-7 record. In the past, Coach Ron Gully was able to find ways to shut down Saint Francis’s offense, making them work a little harder for the win. This year, all fans are curious to see how new coach Shandyn Foster will pull through with the win. So far she has led them to a 13-6 record and guided them through some impressive wins against challenging teams. With her strong work ethic and the teams hunger for this prideful win, Christian Brothers has no doubt that this will be an intense game that will be exciting to watch.
