Lady Falcons Suffer Disappointing Setback

By Alyce Munoz

From tip off to the final countdown on the clock, this year’s Women’s Holy Hoops had fans on the edge of their seats as they watched both the Lady Falcons and the Troubadours battle for this prideful win. The Falcons came out quick, Saint Francis had no problem keeping up. The game was neck and neck going into the half with a tight score of 30-26 in the Lady Falcons favor. In the last two quarters both, teams fought for the lead, but unfortunately CB came up short in the third losing, 57-51.

Dynamic Duo Bria Shine ’20 and Brianna (Breezy) Juniel ’19 worked together in the first half to out-rebound Saint Francis as they provided toughness on defense. Senior shooting guard Monet Brown ’18 worked hard on defense and achieved many impressive steals. Chance Sims ’19 and Zori Miller ’18 brought their A game, swinging the ball fluently on offense, helping Juniel drive to the hoop for solid lay-ups. The Lady Falcons had no problems playing as a team as they battled the Troubadours, but could not pull out the win. The Lady Falcons will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they host Casa Roble to begin the second half of CAL play.
