Tuesday night the Christian Brothers Woman’s basketball team played Bradshaw Christian in their Sac-Joaquin Division III Section Semifinal game. It started off quickly, with an automatic three pointer from Bradshaw within the first minute of the game. This caused the Falcons to come back quick, throwing up shots from inside the key like no tomorrow, giving them a 15-9 lead by the end of the first. The second quarter was quick for the Falcons as their offense completely overpowered Bradshaw. By halftime the Falcons were up 29-17 and started to get comfortable. The third quarter was chaotic for CB as Bradshaw worked their way around the Falcons defense and came up close. CB started to get frustrated fast and needed to slow down their game play if they wanted to come out with a dub. Fortunately Coach Foster ’00 was able to set correct plays for the next two quarters and completely break down Bradshaw Christian, giving the Falcons a 65-55 victory
Though CB was never down throughout the game and came out with a win, they were faced with a tough team that made the Lady Falcons showcase their skills and give their fans a taste of their best work. The girl’s defense was astounding with great blocks and zero fouls from Chance Sims ’19 and excellent steals from Monet Brown ’18. AC Nelson ’18 killed the game as she played with fire and fury in her eyes, playing aggressive offense and leaving everything on the court. Finally, Breezy Juniel ’19 and Bria Shine ’20 dominated the game with 23 points for Breezy and 19 points and 20 rebounds for Bria. The girls look to take home another section championship this Saturday against River Valley at University of the Pacific.
