The Falcons participated in the Sierra Shootout this weekend and placed second of sixty-six teams of all divisions. In the first game, Christian Brothers went up against Del Oro and came out on top 15-3 with Sam Noonan ‘20 dominating as he scored five goals in the game. The Falcons then took on Buhach Colony, winning 11-3 with Colin Quinn ‘20 and Caleb Quinn ‘20 both with seven steals. Noonan tacked on another four goals in that game to make his tournament total nine.
Christian Brothers then faced Division II opponent Ponderosa and beat them in a nail biter 9-8 with Nick Piper ’19 and Noonan leading the way with three goals each. The win over Ponderosa propelled the Falcons into the championship against Division I school Woodcreek. Unfortunately, the boys lost in a close game, 7-5, but did not come home empty-handed. Christian Brothers finished second in the tournament,establishing name for themselves in the world of water polo. The Falcons next game is the Woodcreek Invitational where they will look to take home gold.
