This past weekend Christian Brothers took part in the Woodcreek Invitational, which was yet another tournament in back to back weeks. In the first game, Christian Brothers took on Washington. The Falcons battled hard, but sadly could not come out with a dub and lost in the third overtime 8-7, taking the Falcons out of contention for first place.
The Falcons then took on Sonora, dominating the Raiders 10-3 as they were led by senior Luc Vesperien ‘19, who added to his 37 steals on the season. On Saturday, the Falcons started out the day strong, dominating their game against the River City Raiders with a win 13-5. With one game to go in the tournament, CB fought hard to take home one last dub before the weekend was over, beating the Hoover Patriots 9-3. Luke Sorenson ’20, Sam Noonan ’20, and Nick Piper ’19 had sensational performances as they helped lead their team to 5th place out of a host of quality schools. The boys look to bounce back in a string of games, beginning Wednesday against El Camino at 5:45 PM and on Thursday night against McClatchy at 5 PM.
