Last Friday, the Falcons took on Vista Del Lago in Folsom. After consecutive victories over Rio Americano and El Camino, the boys looked to continue the momentum. The boys weren’t discouraged by a quick one yard touchdown by Vista in the first quarter with 4:40 left. In the second quarter, Vista scored twice, with a 68 yard touchdown run followed by a 6 yard touchdown run to bring the score to 21-0. But CB countered with two quick touchdowns by Chace Gallup ’19 on a two yard touchdown run and a Jacob Stewart ’21 connection with Luke Jones ’20 for a 65 yard touchdown, the latter coming with 1:32 left in the first half.
Trailing Vista 21-14 going into halftime, the Falcons tried to tie the game early in the third. And a minute into the third, Jones did just that with a 15 yard receiving touchdown. Following an amazing interception by Andrew Dettling ’19 at the CB 4-yard line, the boys gained the momentum they needed. Graeme Farrell ’19 made another interception on the next Eagles drive, and the third quarter ended with a score of 21-21. A 15 yard touchdown catch by Tyler Green ’19 early in the fourth brought the score to 33-28, with the Falcons taking the lead. The game ended with another interception by Farrell and the Falcons secured a victory over Vista. The Falcons ended Vista’s three game win streak and took their own thirdvictory in a row.
The team raised their record to a solid 5-3, as the Eagles dropped to a 4-4. This Friday, the Falcons take on Del Campo at Sac City at 7 PM for the Homecoming game.
