Women’s Soccer Celebrates A Win On Senior Night

By Lauren Towne

On Thursday night, the Christian Brothers Women’s soccer team had a match against the Del Campo Cougars at Hughes Stadium as they honored the seniors who will be graduating. Seniors Annemarie Barbour ‘19, Ashley Valerio ‘19Taylor Hammond ‘19, Dior Dupavillion ‘19Sophia Mattos ‘19, Kennedy Earley ‘19, and Annabella Rolleri ‘19 finished their career at home and their last league game with a 4-1 win over the Cougars. All Falcon goals were scored in the first half of the game with Valerio kicking Senior Night off with the first goal of the game. Valerio’s goal was then followed by a hat trick from the leading scorer in league Lexi Rakela ‘21. The Falcons went scoreless in the second half, but unfortunately a lack of defensive communication lead to a cheap goal by Del Campo. The Falcon’s victory secured their spot in playoffs and was a great way to send off the incredibly talented seniors.

With the win last Thursday night, the 2019 Lady Falcons soccer team finishes third in league with a 7-3-2 record. The Falcons are playoff bound and will have their first game Tuesday night with their opponent to still be determined.
