As the winter sports season is coming to an end, we take a look at the Men’s Basketball 2018-2019 season. The Falcons had a tough season this year with an overall record of 6-21 and a league record of 2-10. The team is sad to lose two outstanding seniors, Anthony Zavala ’19 and Brandon Wiggin ’19, who led the team this season.
While the Falcons record may not have looked promising, they showed their talents through their stats. Ryan Toschi ’20 tied for 1st in double-doubles in the Capital Athletic League with a total of 7 during the entire season. Michael Moreno ’21 tied for 3rd out of all the Capital Athletic League teams and players in total 3-pointers made, with a total of 33 3-pointers.
We got the chance to catch up with Angelo Butler ’20 to ask about what the Falcons can improve on for the next season. “What we can improve on as a team in our focus and leadership, because without those two main things, we won’t do well as a team,” the junior said. Butler also told us some of the goals for our juniors next year.“Our goals for next season are to make playoffs for sure and win Holy Hoops for our senior year and to win out of league and to hopefully win sections.”
We can’t wait to see the Men’s Basketball team move forward next season and come back stronger. The Falcons are looking forward to the new upcoming JV players that will be playing with them next season. Be sure to stay tuned for the Men’s basketball team as they bring the heat next year.
