It has been my honor to serve the Christian Brothers High School community as President and Chief Executive Officer since 2004. I work to advance our school’s mission by ensuring that our faculty and staff have the resources they need to provide an outstanding Catholic, Lasallian education to the students entrusted to our care today and to position the school for strength well into the future.
I report to the Board of Trustees and work closely with the De La Salle Christian Brothers’ District of San Francisco New Orleans and the Diocese of Sacramento. I represent the school to parents, alumni, and the greater Sacramento community. My responsibilities include governance, strategic planning, fundraising, financial management, public relations, and campus development.
My work in Catholic secondary education began in 1985. While attending Loyola Marymount University, I coached soccer at my alma mater, Loyola High School (LHS) of Los Angeles. Upon graduation from LMU in 1989, I joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, where I was assigned to St. Mary Catholic H.S. in Jersey City, New Jersey. My responsibilities there included full time teaching, coordinating Christian Service, and coaching two sports.
Upon completing a year of service as a Jesuit Volunteer, I returned to Los Angeles where I taught U.S. History and Global Studies and coached soccer at LHS. In 1991, I was presented with an opportunity to move from classroom teaching to administration. From 1991 to 1996, I served as Assistant to the President of LHS. During that time, I earned an MBA from Woodbury University in Burbank.
In 1996, I was selected to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Chaminade-Julienne Catholic High School in Dayton, Ohio, a position I held until coming to Christian Brothers in 2004.
From 2010 to 2013, I served as an officer of the Lasallian Association of Secondary School Chief Administrators for the U.S./Toronto Region of the Christian Brothers, including the role of President in 2011-12. Currently I serve as President of the Secondary School Administrators Association for the Christian Brothers District of San Francisco New Orleans and as a member of the board of Trustees for La Salle Catholic College Preparatory in Milwaukie, Oregon.
Locally, I served as a member of the Oak Park Redevelopment Advisory Council from 2008 to 2011. I am a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum (Class XVII) and completed the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Sacramento program in 2005. I have served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary Church.
My wife Patti and I have three sons: Jimmy ’12, Jack ’15, and Patrick ’17.
