Tom Edwards

Mr. Tom Edwards joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2021. Mr. Edwards holds a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering from the California Maritime Academy. Mr. Edwards went through the teaching program at St. Mary’s College after retiring from a career in power generation related fields. Mr. Edwards has over 15 years of teaching experience holding multiple and single subject teaching credentials in the areas of general education, science, engineering, marketing, and architecture. Mr. Edwards moderates the Environmental Club and Sustainable Gardening Club.

Alberto Edradan

Dr. Alberto Edradan joined Christian Brothers faculty in 2021. He holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and a PhD in math. He has taught a variety of math courses both in high school and college level. Currently, he is teaching Precalculus and Geometry.

Seth Alexander, Ph.D.

Dr. Seth Alexander joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2021 as a religious studies teacher. He holds a bachelor’s degree in classical studies, master’s degree in religious studies, and a Ph.D. in theology, all from Loyola University New Orleans.

Jermaine Brown

Mr. Jermaine Brown joined the Christian Brothers staff in 2021 as the registrar. Brown also serves as the head coach of the men’s varsity basketball team. He has a passion for working with youth and extensive experience in logistics, coordinating operations, and maintaining records. He has worked in production planning for Dr. Pepper/Keurig, and overseas for DynCorp International serving American troops as a civilian contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Claudia Ugarte

Ms. Claudia Ugarte joined the Christian Brothers staff in 2021 as the Administrative Assistant to the Principal. She has a degree in Business Administration and extensive experience as an administrative assistant for Catholic Schools and the Sacramento Diocese, most recently at St. Patrick Academy where she had worked since 2007.

Steve McLaughlin

Mr. Steve McLaughlin joined the Christian Brothers staff in 2021 as the Director of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. Prior to Christian Brothers, he served as Assistant Vice President of Donor Relations at United Way California Capital Region where he managed individual philanthropy, major giving, affinity groups, donor cultivation and stewardship. As a key member of the team at United Way, his focus was on fighting poverty in the local community through education, working directly with school districts, administrators, businesses and volunteers to remove barriers to education. McLaughlin previously served as Director of Alumni Relations & Giving at Jesuit High School from 2007-2015.

Carol Rians

Mrs. Carol Rians joined the Christian Brothers staff in 2019. Since 2002, Rians has managed every aspect of the sports photography business she co-owns with her husband. Prior to starting her own business, she received a degree in computerized accounting before serving as an Accounts Payable and Receivable representative for nine years.

Larry Morla ’08

Mr. Larry Morla ’08 first joined the CB athletics coaching staff in 2015 as an assistant track and field coach and the football coaching staff in 2016. In 2019, he became a faculty member as a physical education teacher. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology at San Jose State University and possesses a Level 1 coaching certification from USATF. Morla is currently the co-head track and field coach and head varsity football coach.

Michaela Andrews

Ms. Michaela Andrews joined the Christian Brothers faculty in 2019. She holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with a math concentration and a master’s degree in curriculum instruction in mathematics. Ms. Andrews has been teaching math since 2012 at various levels, ranging from Algebra 1A – AP Calculus. Currently, her primary focus has been teaching AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A.

Melissa Flowers

Mrs. Melissa Flowers joined the Christian Brothers High School community in 2017 as the head coach of our freshman women’s basketball program. She was named assistant Athletic Director in 2019, Athletic Director in 2022, and also serves as an assistant coach on the varsity women’s basketball team. Flowers played basketball at Sacramento City College, and finished her college career in Michigan. After spending 10 years in Michigan, her family moved back to California, where she jumped back into the coaching world.
