Academic Decathlon Teams compete in a national scholastic competition that fosters academic growth, challenges multidisciplinary learning, requires team work and self-knowledge, assures honesty and integrity and strives for excellence at all levels of achievement.
This year, the team that is currently forming will learn a vast amount of information through curriculum, talks, seminars and self-learning on the topic of New Alternatives in Energy: Ingenuity and Innovation. There are many exciting aspects to this competition and if you are very interested, interested, or remotely interested for this challenge, please make a point to contact Mrs. Keller at HKeller@cbhs-sacramento.org immediately. This team will have fun, learn a lot and be challenged to excel and promote themselves.
There are many sections to this competition; all levels of students from all GPA’s are required from a team. It is not just for the top students. The subjects that are studied are: Speech, Essay, Art, Music, Language & Literature, Economics, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. The curriculum is provided for all students and there will be weekly meetings and information sessions from various teachers and guest lecturers.
