Attendance Information

The success of a student’s academic performance depends on regular attendance. Parents must be very selective about non-school-related absences and are advised to review policies in the Parent/Student Handbook regarding absences.

HOW TO REPORT AN ABSENCE

A parent/guardian must contact the Attendance Office prior to 10 a.m. on the day of the absence by phone at (916) 733-3625 or by email at attendancebox@cbhs-sacramento.org. Please report your child’s absence each day with a reason for the absence.

Late Arrival:
If your child has a late arrival, please call the attendance line and/or have your child bring a note from the health care provider. Students arriving late must check-in with the front office upon arrival.

Early Dismissal:
If your child needs an early dismissal for an appointment, please call attendance by 10 a.m. with the reason for the dismissal and the time of dismissal.

Pre-Planned Absence:
If you know in advance that your child will miss one or more days of school, please complete a Pre-Planned Absence Form. This form must be signed by the student’s teachers and turned into the Dean of Student’s office with all signatures completed one week prior to the start of the absence. If a pre-planned absence is approved, the parent does not need to call attendance during that time.

College Visits:
Seniors and Juniors are given two days of excused absences and encouraged to visit colleges. Please complete the Request to Visit a College Campus Form. This completed form should be given to the Counseling office prior to the visit. If you did not complete the form or have exceeded the two days, please contact attendance to report the absence by 10 a.m. on each day of the visit.
