Important Announcements

Parent Volunteers Needed for Homecoming Dance! Get ready for one of the most magical nights of the school year—the Homecoming Dance is just around the corner, and we need your energy and enthusiasm to make it an unforgettable experience for our students!

  • Sign up for a shift: Grab a spot that fits your schedule by visiting the CBHS VolunteerHub. This role requires a background clearance.
  • Not cleared yet? There is still plenty of time to complete the process! Get started today by checking out the requirements on the CBHS Volunteerism Page.

Flu Season: As cold and flu season continues, we want to remind everyone of the importance of keeping sick children at home. When a child falls ill, staying home when symptoms first appear is one of the most effective ways we can protect our entire community. Please keep your child home if they are experiencing:

  • A fever (100.4°F or higher) within the last 24 hours
  • Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours
  • A persistent, disruptive cough or severe sore throat
  • Unusual fatigue, body aches, or other contagious signs of illness

Contact the Attendance Office before 10 a.m. on the day of the absence by phone at (916) 733-3625 or by email at attendance@cbhs-sacramento.org. Please report the reason for the absence. Thank you for your partnership, diligence, and care in keeping our schools and families healthy and safe.

CB Driving/Parking Guidelines:

  • DO NOT PARK IN RESERVED SPOTS AS THOSE ARE FOR AUCTION WINNERS 24HRS A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK. UNATHORIZED VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED AT OWNER’S EXPENSE.We are in a residential community, so please try to use the main streets rather than neighborhood streets.
  • Follow speed limits and driving/parking laws
  • Parking on campus requires a 2026-2027 CB parking permit.
  • Having a permit gives you the right to park on campus but does not guarantee a spot.
  • If you park in the neighborhood, please make sure to obey parking signs and please do not park in front of driveways.

Clothes Closet: Open on Thursday, September 24 during all-school lunch. The Clothes Closet has been a huge success for students seeking dress-code apparel. All items are gently used and at no cost. Donations of clothing items in dress code are always welcome and can be dropped off in the Front Office during business hours. Open House | Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Christian Brothers High School is excited to welcome prospective families and students on campus for our annual Open House. Tour our campus, meet our community, attend presentations, and enjoy live performances from CB Cheer, our musicians, and our choir — plus more. Would your student like to host a shadow day visitor? It’s that time of year again! If your student would like to host a Shadow Day guest, please have them fill out the Shadow Host Form and bring a signed copy of the Host Agreement to the Admissions Office in Bertram Hall to be considered to host an 8th grader on Shadow Day. We need both forms to be registered. Please contact Mrs. Testa at etesta@cbhs-sacramento.org with any questions. 

Have a Connection to a Public Middle School PTA? Help Us Spread the Word About CB! The Christian Brothers Admissions office has already visited many of our Catholic and private feeder schools, but many CB families also have ties to public middle schools — through a younger sibling, a neighbor, or your own community. If you’re connected to a public middle school PTA, we’d love an invitation to come share more about CB. We can offer a short in-person presentation, a virtual info session, or literature to drop off — including details on our all our programs. If you can help connect us with your PTA, reach out to our Admissions Office at admissions@cbhs-sacramento.org.

CBHS Homecoming Dance | Saturday, October 10 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.: Tickets are on sale now! All students must enter by 8 p.m. when the doors close. They will reopen at 9 p.m. for departure. The dance will take place outside in the Koppes Plaza. If you would like to bring a guest that does not attend CB, Jesuit, St. Francis, or Cristo Rey, you must fill out a ​Guest Pass​ and submit it to Mrs. Valine in Room 106 BEFORE PURCHASING A TICKET by Thursday, October 1, 2026. Please check the Homecoming Essential Dance Info regarding Dress Code and Behavior Code.

Seniors

The JET (Jesuit Excellence Tour) will have 16 Jesuit colleges and universities all at one college fair on Monday, September 21st from 5:30-7 p.m. at Jesuit High School. Fliers with the list of colleges in attendance can be found in the Counseling Center.

The SMARTTRACK Funding College Webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22nd at 7 p.m.  Pre-registration is required – Reserve your spot today!

Please encourage your students to regularly check the Schoology group: College Updates for the Class of 2027.  There are scholarship applications, deadlines, reminders, college fair information, college rep visit updates, and more!  This is what the College Counselors use most to keep your seniors updated!

SAT school day exam is Monday, October 12th at 8 a.m.  Registration and payment must be completed through this link: https://secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=9okETN

Please make sure all students in grades 9-11 and seniors taking the SAT have downloaded and/or updated the Bluebook App.  This must be done prior to testing day on Monday, October 12th.

Application workshops will be held each Thursday through the fall semester(beginning 8/27) at 7:45 a.m. and after school/Falcon Flex in Room 103. College Counselors will be available to answer questions, review essays, and assist with completing all application types.

Seniors should check the College updates for the Class of 2027 weekly for scholarship opportunities and important information about college admissions.

Point 1: In a single semester, students may attend no more than two (2) of the following events:

Kairos Retreat – Grade-Level Retreats – VENAVER Immersion Program – Sophomore/Junior/Senior Scholars Trip – Student Television Network (STN) Convention

Point 2: Should a student need to transfer their registration to a future retreat date, a formal request must be submitted via email to mjaldon@cbhs-sacramento.org

Please note the following policies:

  • Transfer Requests: Requests must be received at least fourteen (14) days prior to the start date of the registered retreat. * Processing Fee: All approved transfers are subject to a $35.00 administrative processing fee. * Refund Policy: No refunds will be issued within two weeks of the retreat start date. This includes illnesses, sport’s games, or any other life event that occurs.

Senior Portrait Info: If your Senior has not taken their official senior portrait (required for yearbook), Bill Smith Photography has a temporary studio location for the Senior Class of 2027 in Sacramento and is now accepting bookings. The Junior Retreat is the first overnight retreat experience hosted by the Lasallian Student Life Office (LSLO) and led by our Senior Retreat Leadership Team (SRLT). This retreat emphasizes the student’s personal vocation in life and their gifts. This retreat is a reflection on their life journey thus far as a student at Christian Brothers High School. There are four retreats scheduled in your junior year! 

For a Junior to be eligible as an applicant for the Senior Retreat Leadership Team in their final year at CB, they must fully participate in a Junior Retreat. All retreats are full! To be placed on a wait list email Dr. Jaldon (mjaldon@cbhs-sacramento.org)

Sophomores

Parent Volunteer Opportunities

Please join us for the Parent Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 hosted by the Office of School Culture and Belonging! The event will be held from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the cafeteria and doors open at 6:00 pm. Come learn about our parent engagement structure, the Falcon Faithful, and hear about all of the ways to get involved on campus. You will hear from parent speakers and have the opportunity to speak with faculty and other parents about how to get plugged in to all of the available volunteer and parent engagement opportunities. Light refreshments provided. All are welcome!

Club Day, September 24: Club Day will take place during all-school lunch on the main lawn. This is a great opportunity for all students to check out what clubs are offered at CB and to sign-up for the clubs they are interested in joining.
