Important Announcements
Liturgies | Wednesday, August 19 at 8 a.m. & Thursday, August 20 at 2 p.m.: Mass is celebrated in the chapel. Parents and family members of CB are always welcome to join!
Fall Picture Day is Monday, August 24th, 2026. VIEWING/ORDERING WILL TAKE PLACE AFTER PICTURE DAY: Parents will receive a link via email and text once images are available online. There will be a 72-hour window of free shipping starting once the images are available online. FOR ORDERS PURCHASED: We will mail orders directly to the address input when ordering. Back to School Night is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Refreshments begin at 5 p.m. near the cafeteria. At 5:30 p.m., we will gather for a short prayer service and presentation from school leadership in the Ron Limeberger ’53 Gymnasium. Starting at 6 p.m., families are invited to visit their student’s A set teacher in their classrooms for a 10-minute presentation. Families will then follow their student’s schedule attending all classes for 10-minute presentations. The evening concludes at 7:40 p.m. Please add this to your calendar and plan to join us!
From the Dean’s Office
Locks and Lockers
School-issued locks must be purchased at the student store only. Please do not bring locks from home. Also, students must use lockers assigned to them until they are informed of the process of how to switch lockers, which will be at the beginning of September. Items placed in the wrong locker will be removed and brought to the Dean’s office.
Parking Permits
Parking Permits are required to park anywhere on campus, including in the parking areas outside the gates. Permits are only issued to students with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Because of limited space, parking permits are limited to one per household. Parking Permits are available to purchase online. Students can go to the front office to pick up their permit, with proof of purchase, on or after August 8. If students are caught parking on campus without a Parking Permit, they will be issued a parking violation. For questions regarding parking permits, contact Kelly Harrington at 916-733-3625.
Counseling Department
Class changes: Changes must be requested in person by meeting with the grade-level counselor and completing a Course Transfer Request Form. A fee of $20 will be required to process most changes. No schedule changes will be accepted after 3 p.m. on Friday, August 21. Requests based on teacher preference will not be considered.
Seniors
Applications for VENAVER Blackfeet Due August 18! All juniors and seniors in good academic standing are invited to apply to attend a VENAVER immersion trip. These immersion trips are weeklong opportunities to participate in faith-based experiences exploring community, service learning, social justice, and simple community living. Applications for the Montana VENAVER are due by the end of the day on August 18 – any students interested in attending Blackfeet should submit their application! Details on all VENAVER trips can be found here.
Application workshops will be held each Thursday through the fall semester at 7:45 a.m. and after school/Falcon Flex in Room 103. College Counselors will be available to answer questions, review essays, and assist with completing all application types.
Seniors should check the College Updates for the Class of 2027 weekly for scholarship opportunities and important information about college admissions.
A 2-day SAT and PSAT Prep Boot Camp will be hosted at CB on Saturday 9/26 AND 10/3 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. This is open for JUNIORS and SENIORS only. Register with Tried and True Tutoring at: https://www.triedandtruetutoring.com/schools/christian-brothers-hs
Juniors and Seniors: The CSF (California Scholarship Federation) forms are now available in the Counseling Center. Forms are due by 3 p.m. on Friday, August 28th.

Senior Portrait Info: If your Senior has not taken their official senior portrait (required for yearbook), Bill Smith Photography has a temporary studio location for the Senior Class of 2027 in Sacramento and is now accepting bookings. Student Volunteer Opportunites
S.A.L.T. Sponsored Donation Drives – Now Collecting PB&J for Unhoused Students: S.A.L.T.’s annual PB&J drive to support hungry students in Oak Park happens again during the month of August! Students and families are invited to donate peanut butter and jelly to be distributed to unhoused students and their families from Oak Ridge Elementary. Donations can be dropped off in the LSLO. Brands that are in plastic jars and do not require refrigeration are preferred, and alternative butters such as almond or sunflower are welcome alternatives for those with nut allergies! Check in with Ms. Hanshew in the LSLO with any questions.
Service Opportunity: Volunteers Needed to support local youth in foster care: Court Appointed Special Advocates of Sacramento (CASA Sacramento) trains volunteers to advocate for local kids in foster care. On September 24, they are hosting Light of Hope, an evening benefit at a private home in Curtis Park to support that work. CASA is looking for 8 students to help the evening run smoothly. The shift runs from 4:40 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and volunteers will earn approximately four service hours. Roles include greeting guests, staffing the check-in table, helping with setup, and light cleanup at the end of the night. It is a meaningful way to earn service hours while supporting youth here in our community. Click here to see the event on MobileServe.
