Jacob Hunley ’96

Mr. Jacob Hunley ’96 joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2005. he holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Humboldt State University.  Currently, Mr. Hunley teaches Human Anatomy, and PE.  In addition to teaching, Mr. Hunley is the head coach of men’s varsity soccer. He also serves as the Physical Education Department chair.


A graduate of Christian Brothers, Coach Hunley played collegiately at Humboldt State University. Following his playing career, Hunley spent two seasons as Assistant Coach of the Humboldt State Women’s Soccer team (NCAA Div. 2). Coach Hunley began coaching the JV Women’s teams at CB prior to taking over the varsity men’s and women’s teams in 2007. Hunley’s teams have won numerous league titles over the years, and captured CIF Section titles in 2013 (men’s team) and 2014 (women’s team). Coach Hunley was awarded the All-City Preps/Sac Bee Coach of the Year award in 2014. Coach Hunley has been a teacher at Christian Brothers since 2005. He is also the proud father of 3 boys and lives with his wife and sons in West Sacramento.

Michael Hood

Mr. Michael Hood joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2008. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and religious studies from CSU Chico. He earned his single subject teaching credential from CSU Chico. Mr. Hood is the moderator for Moot Court.

Brendan Hogan ’95

Mr. Brendan Hogan ’95 joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2005. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications – new media studies from San Diego State University and is an Adobe certified instructor.  He is a graduate of the Buttimer Institute for Lasallian Studies. Currently, Mr. Hogan teaches Video Production 1, Broadcast Journalism, Advanced Media Arts and Senior Video.  In addition to teaching, Mr. Hogan is moderator of the Live Sports Broadcasting Club.  Under his leadership, KBFT has earned numerous national awards including the nation’s number one student-produced news broadcast.

Courtney Hendry

Mrs. Courtney Hendry joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2014. She holds a bachelor’s degree in merchandising management from Oregon State University, multiple subject teaching credential, and single subject teaching credential in mathematics.  Currently, Mrs. Hendry teaches Algebra 1B, Geometry and Advanced Algebra with Financial Applications. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Hendry is the Assistant Liturgy Coordinator and Assistant Coach for CB’s Robotics Team.  She has been teaching since 2002 in Catholic elementary and high schools.

Kelly Harrington ’83

Mrs. Kelly Harrington joined the staff in 2011.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Sacramento State University.  She served as Admission Associate for ten years and is currently working in the front office as the Attendance Administrator.

Thomas Guro ’03

Mr. Thomas Guro ’03 joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2012. He holds a bachelor’s degree in religion and philosophy from Christian Brothers University and master’s degree in theology from University of St. Thomas. Currently, Mr. Guro teaches Freshman Religion and Sacraments/Morality.  In addition to teaching, Mr. Guro is a student council moderator.

Lorie Frias

Mrs. Lorie Frias joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2002. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a single subject teaching credential in life sciences from CSU Sacramento.  She earned her master’s degree in human behavior from National University. After teaching mathematics at CB for many years, she joined the Academic Resource Center team in 2022.

Cheryl Flaherty

Ms. Cheryl Flaherty joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2010. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in secondary education and a Master’s of Education in Cirriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, both from Regis University.
