Cheryl Flaherty

Social Studies Teacher, Women's Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach

Ms. Cheryl Flaherty joined the Christian Brothers High School faculty in 2010. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Regis University with a minor in secondary education.  She has a Colorado teaching license and a California teaching credential. Currently, Ms. Flaherty teaches US History and World History.  She is also the varsity women’s lacrosse head coach and a member of the Campus Ministry Team.

Originally from the Bay Area and started playing lacrosse in 2001, Coach Flaherty played midfield and low attack at Menlo-Atherton High School winning the team MVP award in 2003 and 2004, while also serving as Varsity team captain junior and senior year. Played two years of attack at University of Colorado- Boulder before transferring to Regis University. While at Regis, Coach Flaherty continued to support the game of lacrosse by officiating high school and youth lacrosse games. After graduation she coached JV lacrosse for one season in the Bay Area before moving to Sacramento in 2010 to teach and coach at Christian Brothers. She coaches lacrosse in the off season with Ryquin Lacrosse in Sacramento. She is a US lacrosse level 1 and level 2 certified coach as well as a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance. She loves teaching and coaching at CB and is incredibly proud of the growth of the lacrosse program over that last 5 seasons.
