SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER

Social Studies Department

Thomas Fleming ’04 joined the Social Studies Department in 2022. Born and raised in Sacramento, Mr. Fleming graduated from Christian Brothers in 2004. Crediting the strong support he received at CB, he became the first person in his family to graduate from college and earn an advanced degree. Mr. Fleming graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a dual major in history and legal studies in 2008 and San Francisco State University in 2015 with a master’s degree in history primarily focused on Mediterranean history before 1500 and American history, 1877 to the present day.  Following his graduation from SFSU, Mr. Fleming began a fulfilling career as an educator. He has worked in a variety of environments ranging from a private day school in Huntington Beach, to a public high school in Stockton. He is thrilled to be home at Christian Brothers as a Social Studies teacher and Open Mic Night moderator. When he is not immersed in the study of human history, Mr. Fleming enjoys spending time with his wife and son, tinkering with computers, reading science fiction, or hiking around Donner Lake with his dog, Commodore.
