CB Grad Takes The Stage In NYC

If you’ve been to a play or an Open Mic night at Christian Brothers recently, you’ll recognize recent graduate Ian Ferrell ’17.  From hip-hop dance performances and his recent turn as “Daddy” in Sweet Charity to his Elly Award-winning performance of Ariel in The Tempest, Ian has shown himself to be a gifted performer, and has delighted CB audiences for four years. This fall, Ian will begin his studies in theatre at Southern Oregon University.

But first, he’s off to New York City to perform in Generation Me, a new musical, which was selected to be part of the 2017 New York Musical Festival.  After taking the show to Hollywood last year, Ian is excited to reprise his role as Marvin Ellis.  You can see him here talking about his performance and lighting up the stage.  Congratulations Ian, and break a leg!

*UPDATE! On August 6, Generation Me dominated the 2017 New York Musical Festival awards, winning Best Musical, Outstanding Book, Outstanding Ensemble, Oustanding Lead Actor and three individual Outstanding Performance Awards, including one for Ian!  No other production received this award for more than one actor. The show also received nominations for Music, Lyrics, Direction, Chreography, and Orchestrations.
